Cranberry Slow-Cooked Turkey Drumsticks

Ingredients

  • 1 large white or yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 (14-ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 package Turkey Drumsticks, skin removed, about 2 pounds
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

  • Step 1

    Combine the onion, cranberry sauce, chicken broth, vinegar and salt in a 4- to 6-quart oval slow cooker.
  • Step 2

    Add the turkey drumsticks to the slow cooker and coat with the cranberry mixture.
  • Step 3

    Cover and cook until tender, about 4 hours on high, 6 hours on low.
  • Step 4

    Add the frozen cranberries and cook for another 15 minutes.
  • Step 5

    Combine the cornstarch and water and gently stir into the slow cooker. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until sauce bubbles and thickens.
  • Step 6

    Pull the meat from the bones. Serve with mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts (optional).
