Use a fresh or frozen Shady Brook Farms® turkey. Prepare the turkey according to package instructions along with these simple side dishes. If you wish, add one of our new rubs for added flavor.

PRINT RECIPEEasy Gravy

Servings: 4-6

  • Ingredients
  • Reserved juices from the turkey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 can (14 oz.) chicken broth, low-sodium
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground pepper

Instructions
Place turkey juices in a saucepan. Combine cornstarch with 2 tablespoons chicken broth; mix until no lumps are present. Pour remaining chicken broth into the saucepan. Heat chicken broth and turkey juices to a simmer, add cornstarch mixture and continue to cook for 5 minutes. Add poultry seasoning and black pepper. Taste – adjust salt if necessary.

  • 6 sweet potatoes, fresh
  • ½ stick butter, unsalted, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Wash sweet potatoes well, removing any blemishes. Cut sweet potatoes in half, lengthwise. Place potatoes on a baking sheet or roasting pan, coat with melted butter and season with salt and pepper. Turn sweet potatoes onto the cut side, leaving a little space between each piece. You may need to divide them onto two baking sheets, depending on the size of the sweet potatoes. Place sweet potatoes in preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until fork tender.

  • 1 lb. Shady Brook Farms® Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage (bulk)
  • 2 boxes (8-10 servings) stuffing mix
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until evenly browned. Prepare stuffing according to package instructions (using chicken broth and melted butter). Add cooked sausage and drippings to the stuffing; mix well. Place in a buttered casserole dish and bake until golden brown and crisp.

Servings: 4-6

  • Ingredients
  • ½ stick butter, unsalted
  • 1 lb. frozen pearl onions
  • 2 lbs. frozen peas
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
In a 3-qt. pan with a lid, melt the butter on medium heat and then add the pearl onions. Cook onions, covered, for 2 minutes. Add peas, cover and cook another 4-5 minutes, stirring once. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Ingredients
  • ¼ cup water
  • 4 oz. sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1 can cranberry sauce

Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine water and dried cranberries. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until cranberries start to soften. Add canned cranberry sauce to the pan; stir to combine. Place in a serving bowl and chill for 2 hours before serving.

Servings: 4-6

  • Ingredients
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can canned pumpkin
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
  • Whipped cream or topping

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a small bowl, mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into pie shell. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 40 to 50 more minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Top with whipped cream before serving, if desired.
