Holiday On A Budget
Budget Beforehand
To avoid going into debt during the holidays, take some time and make a budget before you start planning your festivities.
Keep in mind that the amount you budget should include décor, drinks, food, gifts, etc.
Before planning a party, figure out the amount of money you can realistically spend on each person. Then you can better plan the menu and know how many guests you can comfortably accommodate.
Keep track of your budget as the holidays progress and alter it as needed. If you must go over in one area, look for ways to cut back in other areas.
Think about hosting an alternative get-together. Think brunch instead of dinner, or a gift-wrapping party instead of a full-blown sit-down dinner.
