The (Last-Minute)
All-American Cookout
The 4th of July is coming up fast, but don't worry if you aren't prepared. Requiring just one quick trip to the store, these handy tips will have you throwing a barbecue in no time at all that would make the founding fathers proud.
Tip #1 – Hot dogs (turkey, of course)
Your first stop at the store should be to stock up on plenty of Shadybrook Farms® Hardwood Smoked Turkey Franks. They're lean, delicious and and as American as apple pie.
Tip #2 – Two words: turkey burgers
A cookout isn't a cookout without some tasty and healthy turkey burgers sizzling on the grill. So make sure to pick up a package (or four) of Shadybrook Farms® Ground Turkey Burgers.
Tip #3 – The cornier the better
American farms produce over 10 billion bushels of corn each year, so the least you could do is enjoy a few ears of it. Did we mention how delicious corn is when seasoned, grilled and buttered?
Tip #4 – Drink up
It's hot in July, but that won't stop us from cooking out. Just be sure to stay hydrated with plenty of water and plenty of watermelon.
Tip #5 – American pie
It's not a 4th of July barbecue without the most American dessert around: apple pie. How to make it even better? Stick a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each slice.
Tip #6 – Go red, white and blue!
This one you can do at home: Just find red, white and blue things around the house. Then hang up an American flag, wear something patriotic and get ready for good eats and a great time!
